Climate change.

It’s such a big, scary, overwhelming issue that sometimes it feels like there’s nothing you can do to make a real difference. That’s why the City of Austin and a team of local community members and volunteers have spent months working on the new Austin Climate Equity Plan, a roadmap for getting Austin to net-zero, community-wide greenhouse gas emissions by 2040… and to do it all while advancing racial equity in our city.

You can read the entire plan here, but if you’re looking for a shorter version, we’ve put together a little easy-to-read guide below. After you’re done reading it, be sure to share your thoughts with the city (before September 30th) by filling out their survey, here

Want to learn even more about the plan? Watch a video interview we recorded with Zach Baumer (climate program manager with the City of Austin Office of Sustainability) here and/or watch a video recorded by the Office of Sustainability about the city’s new Climate Ambassadors (who helped collect input for the plan) here.
