Solar panels. Geothermal energy. Rain chains. Community gardens. Backyard chicken coops. These are the markings of some of Austin’s most eco-friendly homes… and you can explore them all during the 22nd Cool House Tour on Sunday, June 10th.

 

The Cool House Tour is an annual self-guided tour produced by Austin Energy Green Building and Texas Solar Energy Society. The tour showcases homes that are designed and built to high standards of energy efficiency, comfort, and regional design. 

 

Interested in learning how to make your home a little greener? Homeowners and building professionals will be available on the tour to share their experiences in making these sustainable homes a reality.

 

Not a homeowner, but on the hunt for a greener place to live? The tour also features new multi-family condo complexes and neighborhoods, so you can get a sneak peak at the developments in town that are holding themselves to higher environmental standards.
