Austin is continuing it’s efforts to think big on water, and now is the time for the public to get involved. A few weeks ago we told you about Water Forward, an effort to develop a 100-year water supply and demand management plan for the city. Together with our city’s water utility (Austin Water), a citizen task force has already begun the process of developing an innovative water plan for Austin’s future. Now, they’re ready to share what they’ve been working on.
On Wednesday, September 7th from 6pm to 8:30pm at Waller Creek Center Austin Water is hosting a public workshop on the city’s new water resource plan. The project team will provide background information on the plan process, as well as their overall objectives for the plan. Their goal is to think big in order ensure that Austin has a diversified, sustainable, and resilient water future into the next century.
One of the main goals of this workshop will also be to gather feedback from the community about the Water Forward plan and process. If you can’t make the workshop, you can share your thoughts via Austin Water’s online survey, available now through September 7th. More info>>
