Please join us for “The Peoples’ Summit- Truth and Reconciliation” we are holding at the Texas State Capitol on February 15, 2022 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The summit’s goal is to uncover the true impacts of Winter Storm Uri on the storm’s one-year anniversary.

This summit will be held in the same format as a hearing, in which we are inviting testimony from across the state of Texas to tell us about their experiences during Winter Storm Uri. The testimony will include medical experts, emergency personnel, government officials, Texas residents, and extreme weather experts.

As we learn more about the impact of our power outages across the state, we are learning that the results of the power outages are more devastating to Texans than we have previously been made aware at the Capitol.

I invite you to join us at the Capitol virtually. I also invite you to share the event with others to ask them to tune into the hearing, which will be shared over Facebook and on Youtube. Finally, we want to hear about your experience during the winter storm. As Representatives, it is our duty to listen to people across the state and do everything in our power towards truly helping Texans against another extreme weather disaster.
