Here is an opportunity to help the TreeFolks staff get thousands of saplings (baby trees) that we will be planting this winter tucked in a warm blanket of mulch while they wait for planting day. This is a great opportunity to get more familiar with the dozens of native tree species that we plant.

We will provide gloves and other supplies, as well as coffee, water, and light refreshments. Come have fun and get your hands dirty at the TreeFolks office. We will be working outside so please dress for the weather. Free parking at the TreeFolks office.

Eighty-five trees were nominated, and now it is time to find the champions! Join us to reveal the Austin Trees of the Year Awards 2023 winners in the Story Tree, Unique Tree, Small Tree, Large Tree, and Schoolyard Tree categories!

Our award ceremony will be on Saturday, November 5th, at the Tree & Pollinator Festival Day at Dottie Jordan Park, 2803 Loyola Lane, at 2:30pm!

We are honored to be welcomed again at the Roots & Wings Festival at Dottie Jordan Park (which lasts from 2pm to 6pm). Many local organizations will be on hand with fun activities for the entire family – Austin Public Library’s Bookmobile, Storytime, Live Music, Kids Tree Climb, Art Activities, and more. Tour the community garden, find out where the birds live, and take home a free tree courtesy of TreeFolks!

Austin’s beloved Tree of the Year Awards are back, thanks to TreeFolks, the Austin Parks & Recreation Department, and support from the Still Water Foundation!

Embark on a Journey Through Time with TreeFolks for an evening of toasts, tapas, tunes… AND TREES!

Let’s sip n’ stroll on a journey through time together as we marvel at the wonders of prehistoric life & the vital role forests (and TreeFolks!) play in our planet’s perpetual cycle of renewal!

Explore TreeFolks’ wonders & wins from the roots of our humble beginnings through today and beyond! After 3 years, the RootBall revives and will be held at the spectacular (and newly renovated!) Texas Science & Natural History Museum (formerly the Texas Memorial Museum), where we will enjoy an exciting silent auction, moonlit melodies under the stars, locally-sourced tapas from 34th Street Catering, tree-themed cocktails, and MORE!

With 165,00 FREE trees given, 3 MILLION trees planted, and 20,000 tree-huggin’ volunteers, we’re excited to get rooted in celebration and plant even more seeds of wonder together! So mark your calendars and get rooted with us in a night of discovery, camaraderie, and philanthropy beneath our canopy of gratitude!

Guests are welcome to dress in chic woodland attire in support of TreeFolks’ reforestation efforts! From Forest Ranger to Fairy Princess, we’ll leaf that up to you!

– Tickets (https://bike.tfyp.org) are a $20 donation to TreeFolks to support tree planting across Central Texas. TreeFolks Young Professionals members tickets are a $10 donation (Find more info on becoming a member for as little as a $20/year donation at https://treefolks.org/yp)
